a refrain: Cool Story, Bro. Ahahaaaaaa... NO.
I hate CSB with a passion. That phrase encapsulates almost everything i hate about our generation. It’s dismissive, it has that annoying youthful arrogance to it, the word ‘bro’ is just stupid, the phrase is irresistibly catchy and as a young person i have to make a conscious effort not to use it (in the same way that it’s almost impossible not to sing along to the dumb songs on the radio about making it rain on them b*tches and hos), it outright discourages any stories that don’t seem to have ‘a point’ (which is extra retarded because all stories have a point, whether the teller knows it or not), people say it either to be jerks (which kids think is crazy fun now but will most likely regret with age and experience) or without understanding that words should mean things (which makes me weep for our future), it has this crazy alienating effect on whoever it’s directed to, it encourages a numbness to language (because clearly, if you can’t handle CSB, then you’re too sensitive or you take things too seriously), and ugh. The list goes on and on and on, and every single thing on that interminable list, i hate.
TRUE STORY. I seriously hate it when ppl call me BRO… I’M NOT A BRO okay. Stop calling me that. Read Vivian’s post. When I read it, I couldn’t help but nod in agreement with everything that she said (:
I usually don’t reblog, but this has been on my mind lately. PREACH.
