Mother’s Matchmaking Mission #1
Hahaha. The dreaded day that I’ve only heard distant rumors from other daughters about has come — my mother has taken my love life upon herself and is trying to set me up with her friend’s son, oh dear… *Embarrassed laughter*
Mom: Oh, you know how we’re going to New York in August? So I called my friend who lives in New York to ask her some stuff and the conversation just happened to veer towards how our children are doing…
Mom: My friend’s son graduated from NYU three years ago and is working in iBanking. Is Morgan Stanley that good of a company? He makes a lot of money!
Me: Yeah, so?
Mom: He even knows what an actuary is! When I told her about your work, she said that her son had considered becoming an actuary too before he chose iBanking since it’s more aggressive.
Me: Uhh… coooooooool mom.
Mom: Yeah, so my friend and I were thinking, we should ALL meet up when we go visit New York in August!
Me: Haha…
Mom: Oh, by the way, he’s 23.
Oh mamacita….
I give you an A+ for effort, but as for delivery… -___________-
