I knew I was going to marry this girl as soon as we started dating, so I started cooking up a plan that would surprise and bless her. I thought it would be great to have our friends be a part of the surprise, so I invited some of our friends to help with the process. The plan was to propose on her birthday so she wouldn’t suspect anything other than a birthday surprise. From the beginning, I started collecting mementos of our dates and things that reminded me of her and took plenty of photos (she thought it strange that I took so many photos, but I had big plans). I enjoy playing and writing music for fun and recorded covers for her almost every month up until 1 year, which she enjoyed thoroughly because it included songs that she liked. For the proposal, I decided to write a song about how I’ve never said the words “I love you” to her, because it was reserved for a special moment such as when we decide to spend the rest of our lives together.
